Today, most television shows depict men as buffoons who couldn’t find their way out of a bathroom or as shallow college punks just trying to make a score with the ladies. Is that who we are truly called to be as men of God? The answer is no. Being a man of God is a journey towards honor, dignity, and courage. Being a man of God is not about sitting around entertain ourselves and just hoping our families turn out ok as if we have no say in the matter. It is about allowing God to transform our hearts to be defenders of truth and love and to be willing to lay our lives down not just for the physical protection of our loved ones but also for their spiritual protection.
